Republic of Peru Spanish: República del Perú is a country in western South America. It is bordered on the north by Ecuador and Colombia, on the east by Brazil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

It is located in the west central part of South America. It borders on Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brasil and Bolivia to the east, Chile to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the best.

Peru has 3 well defined regions: Coast, Sierra (the highlands) and the Amazon Rainforest (Oriente).

Language & Religion
Spanish is the predominant and official language. Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas, was also declared and official language. Aymara is also spoken on the Titicaca Lake area and several other dialects are spoken on the jungle area.
The main religion is Catholicism (95% of the population).
